Our first flying display of the year was performed at a Franco-Belge themed airshow at Lens, an airfield situated south of Lille and not far from our home base in Kortrijk. This free event has grown in to one of the biggest airshows in France. A real family show, a great flying program and the fantastic weather made attendance number soar to an estimated 100.000.

Arriving on Saturday afternoon, the whole crew quickly set up the merchandise tent, as already quite some visitors were arriving. Later in the afternoon the Bronco flew a flying display rehearsal in preparation of the big day on Sunday.

During the evening a wonderful show was put up. The weather could not have been any better with a perfect sunset as background. Performers were the Rafale, F-16, the Breitling Jet Team and to close the show a fantastic fireworks demo of the well known Twister Team.

On Sunday the temperature quickly reached close to 30 degrees and many visitors found the way to the airfield. The organizers attracted a great variety of aircraft ranging from gyrocopters to vintage aircraft and helicopters to the modern fighter jets. Some of the highlights were the Breitling Jet Team, Cartouch Dorée, Equipe de Voltige, T-28,… to name just a few. A unique demonstration was flown by the Belgian F-16 and the French Rafale. It is not often that a display is flown by front line fighter aircraft of two different nations together!

In the mid-afternoon Tony flew his first public display since the unfortunate events almost two years ago. The occasion also marked our first display at a French airshow, and it will definitely not be our last.

We especially would like to thank Christophe Lenglain and the whole crew for the great job they have done putting this incredible show together for the many thousands of visitors to enjoy!
