The third year since its inception Torbay Airshow draws large crowds to the beautiful bay centered on the town of Paignton, between Torquay and Brixham, along England’s south west coast. The bay provided a natural safe harbor for the Royal Navy fleets until early last century. The area is now rightly named the English Riviera thanks to its mild climate with palm trees abound, as we were to savour during our stay.

Displaying at Torbay was a first for Bronco Demo Team. Together with most other display aircraft we were based out of Exeter airport, about 20 nm north of the display site. XLR corporate Jet Centre provided excellent ground services and made our stay very comfortable indeed.

Crews were lodged at the Redcliff Hotel conveniently located at show centre on the beach. This allowed easy for easy meet and greets with airshow fans, the local Air Cadets branch, 200 (Torquay) Squadron Air Training Corps, and other visitors. Many young boys and girls came up with the show’s programme asking for autographs, their enthusiasm was second to none.

Special thanks go to the Torbay Council, the TSA Consulting team with Ian Sheeley – for the excellent organization and the XLR Jet Centre team.
